For the readers who are not familiar with you, how would you introduce yourself?
Hello everyone, my name is Vamos, and I’m from Korea. I started working in 2020, and I specialize in unique and distinctive blackwork and anime-style tattoos.
I’ve loved reading comics since I was young, and I especially enjoyed drawing in detailed comic styles like Berserk.
After becoming an adult, I got my first tattoo in blackwork, and since that day, I was completely hooked on tattoos.
And now you are still based in Korea?
Yea, I am based in Daejeon, and I work as a guest artist around the world, meeting my fans along the way.
How would you describe the tattoo scene in Korea these days?
The tattoo scene in Korea is in a very challenging situation. Many artists are working hard, but the process of change is not easy. I hope it becomes a better scene in the future.
What can you tell us about your tattoo style?
I would define my style as unique designs with a clean, sharp black work feel. Since I truly enjoy this work, I can always stay focused and have fun doing it.
Please walk us through your process when you start a new tattoo for your customers.
My Instagram has a lot of flash designs. Clients can choose a design they like from my work or request a custom piece. After confirming the placement and size, we set a date, and once the deposit is received, the appointment is confirmed!
What’s the most challenging aspect of being a tattoo artist in 2025?
Learning how to tattoo itself is difficult, and even after you’ve learned, surviving in this scene when you first start is tough. There won’t be many clients, and you’ll probably get some strange requests that you’ll have to accept. But you have to push through. Define the style you want, and dive deep into it until you perfect it.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a tattoo artist?
Simple. I feel rewarded just knowing that my clients appreciate my work.
What’s your experience at tattoo conventions so far?
I discovered many incredible artists I didn’t know before, and it became an opportunity to dive even deeper into the world of tattoos.
Did you ever participate in any tattoo contest?
I haven’t participated as an artist yet. I thought I could just work hard on my own, but I realize that in order to increase my influence and learn more tattoo skills, I definitely plan to participate in a convention. Just the fact that the top artists in the industry come together in one place is enough to learn countless things.
Do you have any plans to attend a tattoo convention any time soon?
I really want to attend AnimeInk Con because I love anime, and it looks like a lot of fun.
What advice would you offer to someone considering a career as a tattoo artist?
It’s a really tough journey, but we love tattoos. Even if the journey sucks, always enjoy it and never give up.
Who are the people you admire the most within the tattoo community?
I always enjoy seeing Oozy’s work. I really love his anime-inspired tattoos.
What’s your biggest accomplishment as a tattoo artist?
The smallest yet greatest achievement is satisfying my clients.
How do you stay at the top of your game?
I think the key is to constantly study great work and keep practicing.
Do you do other forms of art besides tattooing?
I love drawing anime illustrations, and my Instagram is filled with many designs. I always put a lot of thought into creating them.
What are your goals or dreams for the near future?
I hope my style becomes more established and gains greater recognition among the public.
