Roma Tattoo Expo #14 (2013)

More than 500 artists from all over the world gathered in Rome for the three-day gathering of tattoo masters Roma Tattoo Expo #14 (2013) to show off their body painting skills.

Thousands of visitors flocked to the 14th edition of the world-renowned convention of tattoo lovers held at the Ergife Palace Hotel to watch the artists at work and maybe get a new tattoo on the least expected part of the body.

Snakes, dragons, bloody daggers, corpses’ heads, winged demons, but also many more unusual tattoos for everyone’s taste are painted on lovers of this art.

“For me, it’s the highest form of art and wearing it on me is the most beautiful thing I can do,” said 26-year-old Akuma, who even has a tattoo on her forehead.

“The event is a good opportunity to show our style, expand contacts and meet other tattoo artists from all over the world,” said Velt, 36, owner of a tattoo studio in central Rome and a fan of medieval monsters.

Around 6.000 stalls with tattoo artists were “studded” in the luxury hotel’s 400 square meters of space. Tattoos were painted in ancient Egypt, but over time they became a trademark of sailors and prisoners, and later spread to all levels of society!
