A labyrinth of needles, machines, and skin: the 21st edition of the world’s fifth-largest tattoo convention returns with more than 400 tattoo artists from across the globe, alongside iconic names from Japan, Europe, and the Americas.
From October 8–10, 2021, the needles of the world’s most celebrated tattoo artists will once again leave their indelible mark on Rome.
Through the ages, tattooing has embodied a ritual connection to the sacred. It later became a symbol of rebellion, then evolved into a form of contemporary art. Today, the very act of tattooing has become a live performance, while the tattoo itself stands as a powerful emblem of identity and belonging. From fashion models to professionals, from yuppies to hippies, nearly everyone now wears a tattoo — a unique and unmistakable signature on the skin. Brands, influencers, television personalities, and digital stars continue to harness the immense cultural and social reach of tattoo culture.
Tattooing has grown into a vast and all-encompassing movement, where countless philosophies, aesthetics, and lifestyles converge. All of these worlds will meet at the 21st International Tattoo Expo Roma, the fifth-largest and most prestigious tattoo convention in the world, hosted at the Nuova Fiera di Roma. More than 400 tattoo artists from every corner of the globe will gather alongside representatives of both old and new school styles, emerging trends, renowned brands, VIP guests, exhibitors, and the broader culture surrounding body art and visual expression. The event will unfold across a packed live program of performances, showcases, and experiences.
Within the vast hangars of the Nuova Fiera di Roma, the masters of the tattoo machine will transform the venue into a fully immersive ink-driven universe — a maze of machines, needles, and skin brought to life by artists from some of the world’s most acclaimed studios. The 21st anniversary of the Expo promises a celebration that is at once ritualistic, artistic, trendsetting, and unmistakably social, featuring some of the biggest names in the international tattoo scene.
