Olivia Verove, also known as Cocalye Tattoo, is a French tattoo artist based near Toulouse whose work explores the quieter side of contemporary tattooing. Specializing in fine line, floral, and ornamental compositions, she has developed a visual language built around restraint, precision, and balance rather than excess. Her tattoos move naturally with the body, combining delicate structure with a strong sense of placement and flow.

Working from a private studio in southern France, Olivia approaches tattooing with a meticulous and highly personalized process. Her background in watercolor painting subtly informs her aesthetic, visible in the softness of her compositions and the lightness of her tonal transitions, while her focus on fine detail gives each piece a refined, almost couture-like quality.

As fine line tattooing continues to gain recognition within the international scene, Olivia represents a generation of artists pushing the style beyond trend-driven minimalism into something more enduring and compositionally mature. Through conventions, collaborations, and an expanding international presence, she continues to refine a body of work defined by elegance, technical control, and understated sophistication.

  • How would you like to introduce yourself?

I am Olivia Verove, a French tattoo artist specializing in fine line, floral, and ornamental work.

My art is centered around finesse, precision, and elegance. I create unique, poetic, and delicate pieces designed as true jewels for the skin.

Beyond tattooing, I consider myself an artist committed to quality and high standards, with a constant desire to evolve and expand internationally. I regularly present my work at national and international conventions, often participating in competitions.

  • Where can your customers find you?

My clients can find me in my private studio located in Cugnaux, near Toulouse in the south of France. I work by appointment only, focusing on custom pieces in a calm and dedicated environment.

  • What does tattooing mean to you personally?

Tattooing means a lot to me on a personal level. What I love most is translating my clients’ thoughts, emotions, and stories into something visual and permanent on their skin. Each tattoo becomes a collaboration where I try to capture something meaningful for them.

I’m also very touched by the idea that my work will stay with them for the rest of their lives. In a way, I become part of their story. Some tattoos mark important memories, help someone close a chapter, or symbolize a new beginning.

For me, tattooing is not just about creating beautiful pieces, but about helping people remember, heal, and move forward.

  • Do you usually do guest spots? If yes, what’s your experience in doing them?

I am currently starting to explore guest spots and would love to develop this part of my career further.

So far, I mainly travel to national and international tattoo conventions, which already allows me to meet clients from different countries and connect with artists from around the world. These experiences have shown me how enriching it is to work in different environments and discover other tattoo scenes.

Guest spots are something I’m very interested in developing, as they offer opportunities to collaborate with other studios, share knowledge, and meet new clients internationally.

  • How would you describe the tattoo scene in France today?

The French tattoo scene is very dynamic and constantly evolving.

There is a growing level of expectation from both artists and clients. Fine line and minimalist styles, once underestimated, are gaining increasing recognition, especially at conventions where dedicated categories are beginning to appear.

There is also a clear professionalization of the industry, which is very positive.

  • What is the biggest challenge of being a tattoo artist in 2026?

The main challenge is maintaining a high level of quality in an extremely competitive market.

It is essential to develop a strong, coherent, and recognizable artistic identity rather than simply following trends. For me, the challenge is to continue evolving artistically while staying true to my own universe.

  • What tools or machines do you prefer to use?

I primarily work with 3RL needles, which I find extremely versatile and perfectly suited to my fine and precise style.

I prioritize high-quality professional equipment, especially Emalla needles, whose consistency and finesse match my technical standards.

For my machine, I use the Spektra Flux by FK Irons. It is reliable, functional, and versatile, allowing me to adapt to different types of work while maintaining precision and comfort during long sessions.

  • How would you define your current style and how did you develop it?

My style is delicate, ornamental, and deeply inspired by nature.

I naturally gravitated toward fine line and floral work because I have always been drawn to precision, subtle details, and balanced compositions. I enjoy creating designs that feel light, elegant, and harmonious with the body.

My goal is to create timeless pieces that enhance the natural flow of the body without overpowering it—almost like jewelry on the skin.

  • How do you stay creatively inspired?

Nature is a major source of inspiration for me. I’m very drawn to flowers, organic shapes, and the balance found in natural forms.

I’m also inspired by imagining the kind of tattoos I would want to wear myself. Designing pieces I feel personally connected to helps me create work that is both meaningful and visually balanced.

Inspiration comes from observing the world and translating that sensitivity into elegant compositions.

  • Are there any tattoo styles you’d like to explore more?

I would love to explore color work more deeply, especially within floral and poetic compositions.

While my work is often focused on fine line, I’m interested in developing more colorful designs that still maintain softness, elegance, and balance. Subtle color palettes can bring an additional layer of emotion and poetry while preserving delicacy.

  • Do you have any sponsors?

I am not officially sponsored at the moment, but it is something I would like to develop in the future.

I work with very specific tools and maintain high standards when it comes to quality. If I collaborate with a brand, it would need to align both artistically and technically.

I believe these partnerships should develop naturally as my work and international presence grow.

  • As a Tattoo Artist what kind of tattoo ethics is really important to you?

Ethics are fundamental. Respect for the client, strict hygiene standards, transparency, attentive listening, and respect for the body are essential.

Tattooing is both an artistic act and a responsibility—what I create becomes part of someone’s life.

  • Being a successful tattoo artist requires many different skills. What’s your favorite way to keep learning?

What I love about tattooing is that learning never stops.

I spend a lot of time practicing to refine my precision and develop my personal style. There is always something new to explore—whether it’s technique, composition, or a different artistic approach.

Staying curious and constantly challenging myself keeps the work meaningful.

  • Do you practice other forms of art?

Yes, I have practiced watercolor painting since childhood.

This has strongly influenced my artistic sensitivity. In my tattoo work, you can see the softness of transitions, light compositions, and subtle tonal variations inspired by watercolor.

For me, tattooing is part of a larger artistic continuity.

  • What is your greatest accomplishment as a tattoo artist?

For me, the greatest accomplishment is seeing the emotion and happiness of my clients when they see their finished tattoo.

Knowing that something I created can have such meaning for someone is incredibly rewarding. When a tattoo resonates deeply—whether it marks a memory, a milestone, or simply something beautiful—it reminds me why I love this profession.

  • What advice would you give to someone who wants to become a tattoo artist?

Develop a strong identity rather than copying others.

Take the time to learn technical foundations thoroughly, and above all, cultivate discipline and patience. Tattooing requires both precision and sensitivity. Growth comes from constant self-reflection.

  • What are your short-term goals and dreams?

To continue developing my international presence.

I want to participate in more conventions, collaborate with artists and brands, and build a strong, coherent artistic identity. I’m also interested in developing guest spots internationally to grow within the global tattoo community.

  • What legacy do you want to leave as a tattoo artist?

I would like to leave a legacy of delicate and meaningful work that people are proud to carry.

For me, tattooing is about creating pieces that feel personal, timeless, and connected to the individual. If my tattoos continue to hold meaning for someone over time, that would be the most meaningful legacy.

I also hope to contribute to the recognition of fine line tattooing as an art form that requires precision, sensitivity, and respect.
