For the rare readers who may not be familiar with you, how would you introduce yourself?
If I was introducing myself to someone who was not familiar with me, tattooing wouldn’t be at the forefront, but I would casually throw it in there somewhere. What comes to mind first is I’m a family man, getting together with friends, I love to travel the world, and I find the most happiness, being outdoors, golfing, fishing, hiking, etc. you know, any excuse to get outside and do something epic.

Where did your fascination for tattoos come from?
My fascination for tattoos came from my upbringing in the Los Angeles area. It was a very sought after look to be heavily tattooed, so you grow up you want to be covered. I was also the only artist in my group of friends, so naturally they all eventually wanted me to tattoo them and that’s how I got my start.

Where are you currently based?
I am based out of Las Vegas, NV, but I’ve also got a private studio in the coastal area of NC and travel quite a bit, both national and international.

How would you describe the tattoo scene in the United States these days?
As the leading tattoo industry of the world, America is sought after by almost every tattoo artist globally. Because of that, the industry is extremely competitive now, changing and evolving at a pace that is surprising and exciting all at the same time.

You are known for being a Master of Black & Grey. However how would you really define your tattoo style?
Take 2 scoops of Black & Grey, mix that with 1 cup Realism, 4 tablespoons Edginess, and stir slowly with quart of originality. Top it off with hard work & discipline, and you’ve got the recipe for my tattoo style.

What kind of tattoo projects do you like to do the most?
I prefer large scale Black & Grey (although I have been known to dabble in color sometimes).

What’s the main source of inspiration for your tattoos?
Artists are stimulated visually. As someone who travels frequently, I am often inspired by my environment and surroundings. If I’m hiking a lot my work is going to look more textured and vegetative. If I’m in Italy, or a gallery or museum, my work will reflect that.

What’s the most challenging aspect of being a tattoo artist in 2025?
As tattoo trends continue to change, you’re constantly evolving your craft, needing to learn new tricks of the trade.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a tattoo artist?
Traveling, 100%. I can pack up, go anywhere I want to see & work there. I feel like I live a rich life, it’s all about the experiences.

What’s your primary reason to attend a tattoo convention?
There are two reasons to attend a tattoo convention in my opinion. First and foremost is to travel the world and make money while doing it. The second is to be inspired. There’s no better motivation than attending a convention with 500 plus artists all working all weekend, trying to do the best tattoo they can.

What’s your favorite tattoo convention so far? And why?
Unfortunately, my favorite tattoo convention is no longer around. I’m referring to the London Tattoo Convention, which was by invitation only, top tier gathering of tattoo giants. What an amazing show.

What advice would you offer to someone considering a career as a tattoo artist?
Draw every day and strive to be the hardest working artist, not the best.

What’s your biggest accomplishment as a tattoo artist?
I bought some land and a farmhouse out in North Carolina and added a private studio & apartment. My clients fly in, get tattooed, have a nice place to stay, eat good food, fish, golf, whatever they want really. It’s a tattoo vacation spot and people really love it.

Do you do other forms of art besides tattooing?
Absolutely. My strongest medium is charcoal on paper. I also paint, mostly oil, and I’ve done a little sculpting.
