Based in the UK, Alex is known for his large-scale pieces and cover-up tattoos. With over a decade of experience, he has traveled the world, earned numerous awards, and continues to push the boundaries of his craft. For the readers who are not familiar with you, how would you introduce yourself?
I’m Alex, a multi-award winner from Greece.

Where did your fascination for tattoos come from?
I’ve been into the tattoo industry since my teenage years. I’ve always been fascinated with art and have been drawing since I can remember.

At what point in your life did you become a professional tattoo artist?
I became a professional tattoo artist in my mid-20s when the tattoo industry became more challenging with the rise of social media.

Where are you based?
I’ve been a resident in the UK since 2018.

How would you describe the tattoo scene in the UK these days?
Tattoos in the UK are very popular, with a big variety of designs and styles.

How would you define your current tattoo style and how did you end up focusing on it?
My style is mostly Realism, Black and Grey, and Color. I also specialize in coverups.

Please walk us through your process when you start a new tattoo for your customers.
I always try to make the clients happy and give them exactly what they want—and even more. I also guide them with professional advice.

What’s the most challenging aspect of being a tattoo artist in 2025?
I don’t think there’s anything challenging about being a tattoo artist in 2025.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a tattoo artist?
The most rewarding aspect of being a tattoo artist is the end result and making people happy.

What’s your experience at tattoo conventions so far?
I love tattoo conventions. I find it really exciting to be there and compete with other artists from around the world.

Did you ever participate in any tattoo contests?
I’ve participated in a few American conventions in Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee, Kansas City, and Minneapolis. I’ve won 6 awards in total: 1st place Best of Day B&G, 1st place Large B&G, 1st place Medium B&G, 2nd place Large B&G, 2nd place Best Portrait, and a 4th Best in Show.

What’s your primary reason to attend a tattoo convention?
The reason I attend a tattoo convention is always for the experience, meeting new people, and the competition, which is exciting.

How do you think tattoo conventions could improve for the artists and the public?
I don’t think tattoo conventions need any improvement.

What’s your favorite tattoo convention so far? And why?
My favorite convention is probably the one in Chicago. It was my first American convention, and it left me with great experiences and nice memories.

What advice would you offer to someone considering a career as a tattoo artist?
I would advise new artists to constantly try to improve their skills and to be confident in themselves.

Who are the people you admire the most within the tattoo community?
From the old generation, it’s definitely Paul Booth. From the newer generation, it’s Nikki Norberg, Dimitri Samohin, Paul Acker, and the latest, Steve Butcher (whom I met at the London Tattoo Convention in 2018 he’s a proper cool guy).

What’s your biggest accomplishment as a tattoo artist?
My biggest accomplishment is probably where I am now: traveling around the world, meeting famous people from the industry, and winning awards.

How do you stay at the top of your game?
I stay at the top of my game by constantly improving my style, learning new techniques, and following the new generation.

Do you do other forms of art besides tattooing?
I used to draw a lot, and still do, whenever I have some free time.

What are your goals or dreams for the near future?
My goals for the future are probably to do more conventions and travel more around the world.
