19th Barcelona Tattoo Expo
This year I returned to Barcelona for the 2nd year in a row for the 19th Edition of the International Tattoo Expo and the 5th Edition of the BAUM Festival (Barcelona Art & Urban Movement). As always the weekend is the biggest exhibition of the Tattoo & Urban Culture in Spain. This year the event moved to a new venue within Fira de Barcelona to allow for a bigger Edition than previous years having more than 300 artists from around the world.
As I mentioned in my coverage from last year the Barcelona Tattoo Expo really is an extravaganza of multiple cultures from tattoo, urban, motorbikes, cars and live performances reflecting the diverse culture of the city. This year’s edition had the Circus of Madness delivering entertainment all weekend through fire, dance and a piercing show. The ladies added a new spirit to this year’s event taking center stage as they stole the show with their raw performance over the 3 days.
The Barcelona Tattoo Expo after 19 years continues to cement itself as one the most prestige events in Europe from the hard work, commitment and vision of Event Director Mik Garreta along with the participation of the Mao & Cathy Tattoo Studio. The 19th Edition was no different in showcasing a weekend of diversity through the Tattoo & Urban Arts building up to what will be an unmissable 20th Anniversary next year.
