Flying into Marseille for the first time in my life I felt instantly at home in the south of France by the sea, I was greeted by Olive from the Cezanne Crew at the airport to take me to Aix-en-Provence. It wasn’t long before I seen that this was an event that was highly organised in every detail of this weekend.
Talking to Olive on the way to the event I got a great insight to the background of Cezanne and what Pitou the organizer was wanting to achieve from the event along with Thierry & the Crew.
For many that don’t know the name Cezanne comes from the famous French artist and Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cezanne (born and died in Aix-en-Provence) whose work laid the foundations of the transition from the 19th-century conception of artistic endeavour to a new and radically different world of art in the 20th century.
As Cezanne Tattoo Ink is born from great influence, it is looking to raise the level of awareness of the tattoo culture and bringing it to the surface in an exhibition of Tattoos, Art, Photography and Music in one venue at the highest quality in the South of France.
If I had to sum up my weekend in one line to anyone not from France especially artists, it would be a highly organised event that caters to everyone’s needs in bringing together a true community spirit that will leave you wanting to come back for more.
“Genius is the ability to renew one’s emotions in daily experience.”
“The most seductive thing about art is the personality of the artist himself”
